Description
A classic Thanksgiving menu featuring traditional dishes.
Ingredients
- Turkey – 1 whole (14-16 lbs)
- Stuffing – 1 batch (about 1 loaf of bread)
- Mashed potatoes – 5 lbs
- Gravy – 4 cups
- Cranberry sauce – 2 cups
- Green bean casserole – 2 lbs
- Sweet potatoes – 4 lbs
- Pumpkin pie – 1 pie
- Whipped cream – 1 cup
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Prepare the turkey by seasoning it inside and out.
- Stuff the turkey with stuffing and tie the legs.
- Roast the turkey for about 3-4 hours, basting occasionally.
- Boil potatoes until soft, then mash with butter and milk.
- Prepare gravy using the turkey drippings.
- Cook green beans and mix with cream of mushroom soup and fried onions.
- Bake sweet potatoes until tender, then mash or serve whole.
- Serve cranberry sauce cold or at room temperature.
- Slice pumpkin pie and serve with whipped cream.
