Description
A classic recipe for stuffed pasta shells filled with ricotta and marinara sauce.
Ingredients

- 20 jumbo pasta shells
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 egg
- 3 cups marinara sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Stuff each shell with the cheese mixture.
- Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place stuffed shells in the dish and cover with remaining marinara sauce.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
- You can substitute spinach for basil if preferred.
