Description

A classic recipe for stuffed pasta shells filled with ricotta and marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 20 jumbo pasta shells
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 3 cups marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, basil, egg, salt, and pepper.
  4. Stuff each shell with the cheese mixture.
  5. Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Place stuffed shells in the dish and cover with remaining marinara sauce.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes to the cheese mixture.
  • You can substitute spinach for basil if preferred.
