Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 500 grams ground beef
  • 150 grams pancetta, chopped
  • 1 can (400 grams) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until softened.
  3. Add ground beef and pancetta. Cook until browned.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes and tomato paste.
  5. Add red wine and beef broth. Mix well.
  6. Season with oregano, salt, and pepper.
  7. Simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
