Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk for icing

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add melted butter, sugar, salt, and egg. Mix well.
  3. Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
  5. Let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  7. Spread melted butter and sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar over it.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and cut into slices.
  9. Shape the rolls into a Christmas tree on a baking sheet.
  10. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  11. Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.
  12. Mix powdered sugar and milk for icing and drizzle over rolls.
