- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup pesto
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-8 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle.
- Spread pesto over the dough and sprinkle mozzarella cheese.
- Cut the dough into strips and stack them vertically.
- Shape the stacked dough into a tree on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
