Ingredients

  • Red and green food coloring
  • 1 cup buttercream frosting
  • Holiday sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in milk, vanilla, and almond extract.
  6. In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
  7. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  8. Divide the batter into two bowls. Tint one with red food coloring and the other with green food coloring.
  9. Pour the red batter into one pan and the green into the other.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let the cakes cool before frosting.
  12. Frost the top of one cake and place the other on top. Frost the entire cake.
  13. Decorate with holiday sprinkles.
