Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Rub the prime rib with olive oil.
  3. Season generously with salt, pepper, garlic, rosemary, and thyme.
  4. Place the roast in a roasting pan bone-side down.
  5. Roast for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C).
  6. Continue roasting for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before slicing.
