- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)
- 3 cups bread crumbs
- 2 cups diced vegetables (carrots, celery)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- Prepare the turkey by removing the giblets and patting it dry.
- In a bowl, mix butter, salt, pepper, garlic, and herbs.
- Rub the butter mixture under the skin of the turkey.
- Stuff the turkey with bread crumbs and vegetables.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth around it.
- Cover the turkey with foil and roast for 2 hours.
- Remove the foil and roast for an additional hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
