  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 cups stuffing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry.
  3. Rub the softened butter all over the turkey.
  4. Season the turkey with salt and pepper.
  5. Stuff the turkey with stuffing if desired.
  6. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and add chicken broth.
  7. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil.
  8. Roast in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  9. Remove the foil in the last 30 minutes to brown the skin.
  10. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
