Description

A traditional Christmas log cake made with chocolate and cream.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 100g butter
  • 150g sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 100g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200ml heavy cream
  • 50g powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Melt chocolate and butter together.
  3. Whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Fold in melted chocolate mixture.
  5. Combine flour and baking powder; add to chocolate mixture.
  6. Pour batter into a lined baking tray.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Let cool and roll into a log shape.
  9. Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla.
  10. Unroll cake, spread cream, and re-roll into a log.
  11. Decorate with chocolate shavings.
