Description
A traditional Christmas log cake made with chocolate and cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 200g dark chocolate
- 100g butter
- 150g sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 100g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 200ml heavy cream
- 50g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Melt chocolate and butter together.
- Whisk eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Fold in melted chocolate mixture.
- Combine flour and baking powder; add to chocolate mixture.
- Pour batter into a lined baking tray.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Let cool and roll into a log shape.
- Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla.
- Unroll cake, spread cream, and re-roll into a log.
- Decorate with chocolate shavings.
Notes
- Store in the fridge.
- Can be made a day in advance.
- Use different fillings if desired.
