Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup molasses

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add egg, molasses, and vanilla to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  6. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into shapes.
  7. Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are firm.
  9. Let cool before decorating.
