Description
A festive focaccia bread decorated for Christmas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cups warm water
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Fresh rosemary sprigs
- Black olives
- Coarse sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Transfer the dough to a baking sheet. Press your fingers into the dough to create dimples.
- Decorate with cherry tomatoes, rosemary, and olives.
- Sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use colored vegetables for decoration.
- Best served warm.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
