Ingredients

- 4 lbs of prime rib roast
- 2 tablespoons of kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon of black pepper
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 cups of beef broth
- 1 cup of red wine
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Rub the prime rib with olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
- Place the roast in a roasting pan.
- Roast for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C).
- Continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
- Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the gravy by deglazing the pan with red wine and adding beef broth.
- Slice the roast and serve with gravy.
