Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons of kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon of black pepper
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme, chopped
  • 2 cups of beef broth
  • 1 cup of red wine

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Rub the prime rib with olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
  3. Place the roast in a roasting pan.
  4. Roast for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F (163°C).
  5. Continue roasting until the internal temperature reaches 130°F (54°C) for medium-rare.
  6. Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  7. Meanwhile, prepare the gravy by deglazing the pan with red wine and adding beef broth.
  8. Slice the roast and serve with gravy.
