- 1 whole turkey (12–14 lbs)
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 cups stuffing mix
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 teaspoon sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare the stuffing by sautéing onion and celery in butter.
- Add stuffing mix, chicken broth, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Stuff the turkey cavity with the stuffing mixture.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cover with foil.
- Roast for 2.5 to 3 hours, removing the foil during the last 30 minutes.
- Check the internal temperature; it should reach 165°F (74°C).
- Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
Notes
- For a crispy skin, baste the turkey with its juices.
- Consider adding herbs to enhance flavor.
