Description

Classic Christmas cutout cookies that are fun to decorate and share.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Chill dough for at least 1 hour.
  7. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Cut out shapes using cookie cutters.
  9. Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes.
  10. Let cool before decorating.
