A festive twist on traditional baklava with a Christmas flair.
Ingredients

- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 2 cups of chopped nuts (walnuts, pistachios)
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup of honey
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Layer half of the phyllo dough in a greased baking dish, brushing each layer with butter.
- Mix chopped nuts and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Spread the nut mixture over the phyllo layers.
- Add the remaining phyllo dough, buttering each layer.
- Cut into diamond shapes before baking.
- Bake for 45 minutes or until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, honey, and vanilla. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
- Pour the syrup over the baklava once it comes out of the oven.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh phyllo dough for best results.
- Customize nuts according to your preference.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
