A delightful recipe for making rich and creamy chocolate truffles that melt in your mouth.

Ingredients

  • Dark chocolate: 200 grams (about 7 ounces), finely chopped
  • Heavy cream: 100 milliliters (about 1/2 cup)
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 50 grams (about 1/2 cup), for dusting
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Sea salt: a pinch
  • Optional flavorings: 1 teaspoon of orange zest, espresso powder, or your favorite liqueur
  • Optional coatings: crushed nuts, shredded coconut, or melted chocolate
  • Optional fillings: fruit puree or nut butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate ganache by placing chopped dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until it simmers, then pour it over the chocolate and let it sit for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add vanilla extract and sea salt, then stir until smooth and glossy.
  4. Cover the bowl and chill the ganache in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours until firm.
  5. Shape the chilled ganache into small balls using a cookie scoop or spoon.
  6. Roll each truffle in cocoa powder until fully coated.
  7. Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
