Description
A rich and creamy chocolate dessert served in small pots.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a saucepan, heat the cream and milk over medium heat until just simmering.
- Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until melted and smooth.
- In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
- Slowly pour the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
- Pour the mixture into small pots or ramekins.
- Place the pots in a baking dish and fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the pots.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until set.
- Remove from oven and let cool before refrigerating for at least 2 hours.
Notes
- Serve with whipped cream or berries.
- Can be made a day in advance.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
