Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a saucepan, heat the cream and milk over medium heat until just simmering.
  3. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Stir until melted and smooth.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, sugar, vanilla, and salt.
  5. Slowly pour the chocolate mixture into the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  6. Pour the mixture into small pots or ramekins.
  7. Place the pots in a baking dish and fill the dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the pots.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until set.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool before refrigerating for at least 2 hours.

Notes

  • Serve with whipped cream or berries.
  • Can be made a day in advance.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
