Ingredients
- Ripe bananas: 3 medium (about 1 ½ cups mashed)
- All-purpose flour: 1 ½ cups (190 g)
- Granulated sugar: ¾ cup (150 g)
- Eggs: 2 large
- Unsalted butter: ½ cup (115 g), melted
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Chocolate chips: 1 cup (175 g), semi-sweet or dark
- Salt: ¼ teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Add melted butter to the mashed bananas and mix well. Then add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor.
- Feel free to add nuts or spices for variations.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- Frozen bananas can be used; just thaw and drain excess liquid.
