This chipotle sofritas recipe is a flavorful and spicy tofu dish inspired by Mexican cuisine.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 block of firm tofu (14 oz)
- 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, chopped
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Press the tofu to remove excess water.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
- Crumble the tofu into the skillet.
- Stir in soy sauce, chipotle pepper, cumin, and smoked paprika.
- Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season with salt to taste.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less chipotle pepper.
- Serve with rice or in tacos.
- Can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
