Description

Sugee cookies are a traditional Chinese New Year treat made with semolina and flavored with nuts.


Ingredients

  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 100g sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 50g ground almonds
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg yolks and vanilla extract, mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine semolina, flour, ground almonds, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
  6. Shape the dough into small balls and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let them cool before serving.
