A selection of traditional snacks for Chinese New Year celebrations.
Ingredients
- Glutinous rice flour – 2 cups
- Water – 1 cup
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Black sesame paste – 1/2 cup
- Peanuts – 1/2 cup, crushed
- Red bean paste – 1/2 cup
- Coconut flakes – 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Mix glutinous rice flour, sugar, and water in a bowl until smooth.
- Divide the mixture into small portions.
- Fill each portion with black sesame paste, red bean paste, or crushed peanuts.
- Shape into balls and roll in coconut flakes.
- Steam the balls for 20 minutes until cooked.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
- Use food coloring for variety.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Serve with tea.
