Description

A collection of traditional Chinese New Year snacks and goodies.


Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour – 2 cups
  • Granulated sugar – 1 cup
  • Coconut milk – 1 cup
  • Red bean paste – 1 cup
  • Sesame seeds – 1/2 cup
  • Peanuts – 1/2 cup
  • Food coloring – optional

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix glutinous rice flour and sugar.
  2. Add coconut milk and mix until smooth.
  3. If desired, add food coloring for variety.
  4. Grease a steaming tray and pour in the mixture.
  5. Steam for 30 minutes until set.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool.
  7. Cut into squares and serve with red bean paste and peanuts.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.

Notes

  • Can substitute coconut milk with water if preferred.
  • Adjust sugar according to taste.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
