Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Red bean paste for filling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add softened butter and water to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll out the dough and cut it into circles.
- Place a spoonful of red bean paste in the center of each circle.
- Fold the dough over the filling and seal it.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Store pastries in an airtight container.
- Can use other fillings like lotus seed paste.
- Best served warm.
