A festive menu for Chinese New Year celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups of cooked rice
  • 1 pound of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 cups of mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, bell peppers)
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of ginger, minced
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons of water

Instructions

  1. Heat sesame oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add mixed vegetables and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Add rice and soy sauce, mix well.
  6. Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to the pan, stirring until thickened.
  7. Garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

  • This dish can be made with chicken or tofu instead of shrimp.
  • Adjust the soy sauce to taste.
  • Serve with traditional Chinese New Year decorations.
