Ingredients

- 200g almond flour
- 200g powdered sugar
- 150g egg whites
- 50g granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Food coloring (red or gold)
- 300g butter
- 300g powdered sugar (for filling)
- 1 tsp matcha powder (for green tea filling)
- 1 tsp black sesame paste (for black sesame filling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F).
- In a bowl, mix almond flour and powdered sugar.
- In another bowl, whip egg whites until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add granulated sugar while continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Fold the almond mixture into the egg whites carefully.
- Add food coloring and mix gently.
- Pipe small circles onto a baking sheet.
- Let them sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes.
- Let them cool completely before filling.
- For the filling, beat butter and powdered sugar until smooth.
- Add flavorings (matcha or black sesame) and mix well.
- Pipe filling onto one macaron and top with another.
Notes
- Make sure egg whites are at room temperature.
- Use a kitchen scale for accurate measurements.
- Let macarons cool completely before storing.
