Description

A traditional Chinese dessert for celebrating the New Year.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups glutinous rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup red bean paste
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix glutinous rice flour and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add water and coconut milk to the mixture.
  3. Stir until smooth.
  4. Grease a steaming dish.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the dish.
  6. Spread red bean paste over the batter.
  7. Pour the remaining batter on top.
  8. Steam for 30-40 minutes.
  9. Let it cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator.
  • Reheat before serving for best taste.
  • Can add other fillings like fruit or nuts.
