Description
Traditional Chinese New Year cake recipes to celebrate the festival.
Ingredients
- Glutinous rice flour – 2 cups
- Water – 1 1/2 cups
- Sugar – 1 cup
- Red bean paste – 1 cup
- Coconut milk – 1 cup
- Sesame seeds – 1/4 cup
- Fresh fruits for garnish – optional
Instructions
- Prepare a steaming pot with water.
- In a bowl, mix glutinous rice flour and water until smooth.
- Add sugar and coconut milk to the mixture. Stir well.
- Grease a cake pan and pour half of the batter into it.
- Spread red bean paste evenly over the batter.
- Pour the remaining batter on top.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Steam for 30-40 minutes until cooked through.
- Let it cool before slicing.
- Garnish with fresh fruits if desired.
Notes
- Ensure the water in the steaming pot does not dry out.
- Adjust sugar based on personal preference.
- Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
