Ingredients

- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (15 ounces each) kidney beans, drained
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onion is soft.
- Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add the kidney beans and simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Can be served with cornbread or rice.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
