Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add chicken thighs and brown on both sides.
  3. Remove chicken and set aside.
  4. Add onion and garlic to the pot; sauté until soft.
  5. Stir in chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, and cocoa powder.
  6. Add diced tomatoes and chicken broth; mix well.
  7. Return chicken to the pot; cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
  8. Stir in sugar and salt; adjust seasoning if needed.
  9. Serve hot with rice or tortillas.
