- 1 pound chicken breast, diced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup carrots, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1 cup peas
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine chicken, broth, carrots, celery, peas, and onion.
- Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add butter and milk to flour mixture. Stir until just combined.
- Spoon dumpling batter over the chicken mixture.
- Cover and simmer for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- You can use rotisserie chicken for faster preparation.
- Feel free to add herbs like thyme or parsley for extra flavor.
