Description

A comforting dish of chicken and dumplings made easily in a crockpot.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup carrots, sliced
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups biscuit dough
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas

Instructions

  1. Place chicken, broth, carrots, celery, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in the crockpot.
  2. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or until chicken is cooked through.
  3. Remove chicken and shred it, then return it to the crockpot.
  4. Drop biscuit dough by spoonfuls on top of the mixture.
  5. Add frozen peas and cover. Cook on high for an additional 30 minutes until dumplings are cooked.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for quicker preparation.
  • Adjust seasoning to your taste.
  • For a thicker broth, add cornstarch mixed with water.
