  • Unsalted butter: 1/4 cup (melted, plus extra for greasing)
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Fresh or canned cherries: 1 cup (pitted and chopped)
  • Granulated sugar: 1 tablespoon (for cherry filling)
  • Cream cheese: 4 oz (softened)
  • Powdered sugar: 1 cup
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Milk: A splash, if needed (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by combining warm milk with 1 tablespoon of sugar and sprinkling yeast over it. Let it sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Make a well and add melted butter, eggs, and yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Prepare the cherry filling by mixing chopped cherries with 1 tablespoon of sugar and set aside.
