A classic cherry pie made with fresh cherries and a flaky crust.

- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter, diced
- 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine cherries, sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Roll out the pie crust and place it in a pie dish.
- Pour the cherry mixture into the crust and dot with butter.
- Cover with another crust, seal edges, and cut slits for steam to escape.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Cool before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen cherries.
- Adjust sugar according to cherry sweetness.
- Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.
