Description
A classic Swiss cheese fondue recipe perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients

- 200g Gruyère cheese, grated
- 200g Emmental cheese, grated
- 1 clove garlic, halved
- 300ml dry white wine
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Fresh bread, cubed, for dipping
Instructions
- Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
- In a pot, heat the wine and lemon juice until simmering.
- Add the grated cheeses gradually, stirring until melted.
- Mix cornstarch with kirsch and add to the cheese mixture.
- Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Season with black pepper.
- Serve with cubed bread for dipping.
Notes
- Use a good quality dry white wine.
- Keep the fondue pot on low heat while serving.
- Add more wine if the mixture is too thick.
