Cheese Fondue Recipe: 5 Steps to Cheesy Happiness

Description

A classic Swiss cheese fondue recipe perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 200g Emmental cheese, grated
  • 1 clove garlic, halved
  • 300ml dry white wine
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp kirsch (cherry brandy)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh bread, cubed, for dipping

Instructions

  1. Rub the inside of a fondue pot with garlic.
  2. In a pot, heat the wine and lemon juice until simmering.
  3. Add the grated cheeses gradually, stirring until melted.
  4. Mix cornstarch with kirsch and add to the cheese mixture.
  5. Stir until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with black pepper.
  7. Serve with cubed bread for dipping.

Notes

  • Use a good quality dry white wine.
  • Keep the fondue pot on low heat while serving.
  • Add more wine if the mixture is too thick.
