Description

Candied orange peel is a sweet treat made from the peel of oranges. It is often used in baking or as a snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash the oranges thoroughly.
  2. Peel the oranges, removing as much of the white pith as possible.
  3. Cut the peels into thin strips.
  4. Boil the strips in water for 10 minutes, then drain.
  5. Combine sugar and water in a pot and bring to a boil.
  6. Add the orange peel to the syrup and simmer for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let the peel cool in the syrup.
  8. Once cooled, remove the peels and place them on parchment paper to dry.
