Ingredients
Scale
- 1 large head of romaine lettuce (about 8 cups chopped)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 clove minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Salt to taste
- Croutons (store-bought or homemade)
- Parmesan cheese (shaved or grated)
- Grilled chicken or shrimp (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the romaine lettuce thoroughly and remove wilted leaves.
- Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and dry it.
- In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Whisk until smooth.
- In a large salad bowl, add the chopped lettuce and drizzle with half of the dressing. Toss gently.
- Add croutons and Parmesan cheese on top. If using, add grilled chicken or shrimp.
- Finish with freshly cracked black pepper and serve immediately.
Notes
- Start with a small amount of dressing to avoid overdressing the salad.
- Use fresh, crunchy croutons for the best texture.
- Store leftover salad in the refrigerator for 1-2 days, keeping dressing separate.
