Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk, warmed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. In another bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, eggs, and water.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough and shape into loaves.
  7. Place in greased pans and let rise again for 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use more butter.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
