Instructions

  3. Gradually whisk in milk and cook over medium heat until thickened.

  5. Return the mixture to the pan and cook for 2 more minutes.
  6. Stir in butter and vanilla extract.
  7. Pour filling into the pie crust and cool.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.
  9. Top with whipped cream before serving.
