Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  6. Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
  8. Cool cookies on wire racks.
  9. In a bowl, combine powdered sugar and milk to make icing.
  10. Decorate cooled cookies with icing and food coloring.
