Delicious buttercream Christmas cookies decorated for the holidays.
Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 3 tablespoons milk
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light.
- Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix well.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheets.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool cookies on wire racks.
- In a bowl, combine powdered sugar and milk to make icing.
- Decorate cooled cookies with icing and food coloring.

- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- Use different food colorings for festive designs.
- Chill dough for easier handling if too soft.
