These are delicious brown butter apple cider donuts, perfect for fall.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, browned
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring apple cider to a boil, then simmer until reduced by half.
  3. Brown the butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. In another bowl, whisk eggs, sugar, and the reduced apple cider.
  6. Add the browned butter to the wet mixture and combine well.
  7. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined.
  8. Fill a donut pan with the batter.
  9. Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Let cool before serving.
