Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup vanilla pudding

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and milk.
  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cakes cool completely.
  10. Prepare the custard and let it cool.
  11. Layer one cake with custard and top with the second cake.
  12. Heat cream and pour over chocolate chips to make ganache.
  13. Pour ganache over the top of the cake.
