Description

A rich and hearty meat sauce perfect for pasta.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery. Cook until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, oregano, and basil.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Serve over your favorite pasta.
