Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  5. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  6. Pour batter into prepared pans.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely.
  9. In a saucepan, melt butter and mix in condensed milk, coconut, and pecans to make the frosting.
  10. Spread frosting between the layers and on top of the cake.
