Ingredients

  • Macaroni pasta: 250 grams (about 2 cups)
  • Ground beef: 500 grams (about 1 lb)
  • Onion: 1 medium, finely chopped
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Tomato sauce: 400 grams (about 1 ½ cups)
  • Cheddar cheese: 200 grams, shredded (about 2 cups)
  • Egg: 1 large
  • Breadcrumbs: 100 grams (about 1 cup)
  • Salt and pepper: to taste
  • Olive oil: 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion and garlic until translucent. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and mix in cooked macaroni and half of the cheddar cheese.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Beat the egg and combine it with the macaroni and beef mixture. Grease a baking dish and pour in the mixture, topping with remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
