Hearty beef lombardi casserole with layers of pasta, beef, and cheese.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz egg noodles
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 oz)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  3. In a skillet, brown ground beef with onions and garlic.
  4. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the beef.
  5. In a baking dish, layer half of the noodles, half of the beef mixture, and half of the ricotta cheese.
  6. Repeat layers and top with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
  8. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
