Description
A simple and hearty beef stew made in a crockpot.
Ingredients

- 2 pounds beef chuck, cut into cubes
- 4 carrots, sliced
- 3 potatoes, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Brown the beef cubes on all sides.
- Place the browned beef in the crockpot.
- Add carrots, potatoes, onion, and garlic to the crockpot.
- Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce.
- Season with salt, pepper, and thyme.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
- Serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- For thicker stew, add cornstarch mixed with water.
