Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, heat the cream and milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and sugar until pale.
  3. Slowly add the hot cream mixture to the egg yolks while whisking constantly.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat until it thickens.
  5. Dissolve the gelatin in cold water and stir into the warm custard.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Pour the custard into serving dishes and refrigerate until set.
