- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup crushed vanilla wafers
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Mash the ripe bananas in a bowl.
- In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Add mashed bananas to the cooled mixture and stir well.
- Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In the last few minutes of churning, add crushed vanilla wafers and walnuts if using.
- Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
