- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups diced apples
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup sugar (for topping)
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until combined.
- Fold in diced apples and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
- Spread the batter evenly in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix sugar and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon for the topping.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before cutting into bars.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- These bars taste great warm or at room temperature.
